Jerian Abel, Ph.D. (she/they) As Director of Research & Assessment, Dr. Abel is responsible for research, evaluation, and data management across PMSP’s portfolio of projects. She also provides training and consulting to staff, community programs, and partners related to evaluation, assessment, and program design.

Dr. Abel has a long history of working with K-12 educators to improve science education. They have expertise in Collective Impact, facilitating Communities of Practice, conducting research and evaluation, running Research Practice Partnerships with high-needs schools, and working directly with schools to support improvement. Their additional expertise includes grant writing and editing. They hold a Ph.D. in Curriculum & Instruction and a MS  in Science Education.

For enjoyment, they solve puzzles, garden, camp along the Oregon Coast, and play with their black lab Pepper. They are at PMSP to support all educators in becoming data-savvy to aid our most marginalized youth.
