Kristen Harrison
Executive Director
I began my career as a high school science and math teacher in Oregon — a role I truly loved. When life took me to California, I shifted into building industry-education partnerships and providing teacher professional development. There, I had the incredible opportunity to collaborate with teachers across the Bay Area on projects with Stanford, SRI International, Intel, Lockheed Martin, UC Berkeley, and many others.
After returning to Oregon in 2012, I joined the Portland Metro STEM Partnership as Collaboratory Director, later becoming Co-Director alongside Jerian Abel. In July 2023, I stepped into my current role as Executive Director.
Throughout my journey, I've maintained an unwavering belief in our youth, educators, and community. I've been fortunate to connect with hundreds of amazing partners over the years—you all continue to inspire me! Thank you for being part of the Portland Metro STEM Partnership.
I deeply believe STEM education is essential to our collective future. Today's students will become tomorrow's problem-solvers that our world so desperately needs.
When I'm not championing STEM education, you'll find me enjoying my other passions: photography, traveling, and cheering enthusiastically for my kids!
