PMSP has joined with six community-based organizations to further STEM opportunities for BIPOC youth in our region.

We foster networking opportunities among out-of-school time educators serving underserved youth from the broader Portland Metro region (from Corbett to Banks, and south to Salem).

We work closely with Early Learning partners to increase STEAM opportunities for our youngest learners.

The Portland Metro STEM Partnership (PMSP) facilitates immersive externships for out-of-school educators, career counselors, and math, science, and Career Technical Education (CTE) teachers.

Math in Real Life is a is a cross‑district, project‑based curriculum for grades 6–8 that connects math to real careers and real applications. It currently supports STEAM and math electives across three of Oregon’s largest school districts, helping students access advanced pathways and stay on track for high school success.

We build connections between educators, community-based organizations, industry professionals, and higher education. We also coordinate field trip opportunities, externships, and more!

We offer STEAM Playgrounds for schools and programs interested in offering access to their students for Lending Library equipment and materials. These playgrounds involve teachers learning first hand about the Lending Library resources and materials. Our staff models best practices and a variety of uses and strategies. Meanwhile students get hands on STEAM learning time designed around Oregon Science Standards.

This is a professional learning community (PLC) dedicated to improving elementary learners outcomes in science through content integration, sense-making, student discourse, language development and real life math application. Educators participate in a balance of workshops, PLC meetings, coaching, planning, and collaboration that centers on what students need to be prepared for life, and later grade-levels.

Access to grade-level aligned, STEM Hub developed, mini-lessons and lessons for Lending Library Equipment. Additional high quality outside STEM resources will be shared here.
