All Items here are resources and or equipment available through the Portland Metro STEM Partnership Lending Library. At any given time an item or items may not be available due to checkouts or maintenance required.
The best way to check on the availability of an item is to complete a PMSP PMSP Lending Library - Item Request Form. Please note we cannot take rental requests from outside our region (Metro area); priority is given to underserved and/or underrepresented schools/community partners.

MBot Robots
Building the mBot is a great way for students to learn about the functional elements of robotics.
The MBot STEM Classroom Kit contains all the parts needed to construct a base MBot robot. Students don’t need prior coding experience to get started programming their robots with Makeblock’s Scratch-based mBlock app.

Edison Robots
Edison is a battery powered (or chargeable), codable robot. It has a low floor and high ceiling for students learning to code. This robot can be coded with free coding platforms using barcode scanning, EdBlocks, and/ or EdScratch. Students can use Edison in many ways. They can code to make Edison respond to sound, light, boundaries, and much more. Edison can complete challenges, help solve problems, or many can work together to tell a story!
This kit will come with 26 Edison robots and expansion packs to create new designs. It also includes teacher lesson guides, activities, student workbooks, and suggested lessons for the classroom.

Sphero Classroom Kits
The Indi Robot is a great tool for students' early exposure to robotics and coding. It is a screenless, play-based, no language necessary robot. Every learner regardless of learning needs, can have success with Indi.
Indi inspires imaginative, play-based learning by empowering kids to design and build their own mazes while creating opportunities for students to learn the basics of coding, solve problems, and nurture computational thinking skills. Bee Bot Classroom Kits
Bee-Bot is an exciting robot designed specifically for use by young children. It is a perfect starting point for teaching control, directional language and programming.

Vernier Go! Direct Solar Energy Kit
Provide a hands-on, real-world experience for your students as they investigate solar energy. This package provides the technology and materials needed for groups of students to explore and use to solve challenges.
Students can explore the different amounts of energy needed to power a variety of lights, motors, sound panels and more.

Light Exploration STEAM Kit
The light exploration kit contains small sets (7 per kit) of manipulatives that are solid, transparent, reflective, and translucent. Along with a flashlight for students to explore how light interacts and travels through each medium. It also contains light detectors for each student group to explore how much more or less light can get through various materials. Cyanotype paper (UV sensitive paper) and construction paper are provided for students to create designs and art work based on how the manipulatives and materials interact with sunlight.

USB Digital Microscope Classroom Kits
The USB Digital Microscope gives you a live image that is very similar to what you would see with a traditional dissection microscope. This 5 megapixel camera connects to a computer via USB. It features a 10–150 mm lens with manual focus and an adjustable LED light source. In addition to capturing still images, you can also record short videos and time lapse sequences. An adjustable stand with manual focus is also included. This allows you to change the plane of view you are looking at on the screen. With a fast response time and high resolution, you can get very clear images that are easy to display, save, and place directly into lab reports. Vernier Magnetic Field Sensor Kit
The Magnetic Field Sensor can be used to study the field around permanent magnets, coils, and electrical devices. It features a rotating sensor tip to measure both transverse and longitudinal magnetic fields.

Vernier Differential Voltage Probe
The Voltage Probe is a bipolar sensor. The black lead is grounded along with the interface, and the sensor reports the potential difference between the red lead and ground. It can be used to measure the potential in DC or AC circuits.

Vernier Temperature Probe
The Stainless Steel Temperature Probe is a rugged, general-purpose temperature sensor that can be used in organic liquids, salt solutions, acids, and bases. Use it as you would use a thermometer for experiments in chemistry, physics, biology, Earth science, and environmental science.

Vernier Microphone Kit
Collect data with the Microphone to display and study the waveforms of sounds from voices and musical instruments. It also works well for speed of sound experiments.

Vernier Colorimeter
This 4-wavelength Colorimeter measures the amount of light transmitted through a sample at a user-selectable wavelength in order to determine the concentration of a solution. Features such as automatic sensor identification and one-step calibration make this sensor easy to use. Includes cuvettes and cuvette rack. Comes with curvettes.

Vernier Sound Level Meter
The Sound Level Meter is used to measure sound level in decibels (dB). An output port on the meter records sound level data. A switch on the meter is used to select dBA or dBC weighting. The Sound Level Meter also has an LCD panel to use it as a stand-alone device. A dB range switch and a response switch provide flexibility in the standalone mode.

Vernier Radiation Monitor
The Vernier Radiation Monitor detects alpha, beta, gamma, and X-ray radiation. Applications include nuclear counting statistics, shielding, and decay rate measurements.

Vernier 30-Volt Voltage Probe
This sensor is used to measure voltages in the range of -30 to +30 volts. Use this sensor in experiments that involve voltages larger than 10 volts, such as when working with large solar panels. Since this voltage probe covers such a wide voltage range, its resolution is lower than the Differential Voltage Probe, recommended for most experiments. The removable leads o the 30-Volt Voltage Probe are heavy duty and have shrouded banana plugs to meet European safety standards.
