PMSP Executive Director testifies for statewide steam education
The Legislative short session has begun! Our fearless leader Kristen Harrison testified to the Ways and Means Committee about the importance of the Oregon STEM Hub network and the need to continue funding the 13 Oregon STEM Hubs. Here’s a snippet of her testimony:
“Maintaining current STEM funding is vital to Oregon's future and the futures of our students.
Hubs provide STEM and Computer Science programming to Preschool through high school students across the state. These initiatives served more than 118,000 students and 3,750 unique educators over the 2023-25 biennium.
My top priority is the future of Oregon’s children. I believe the STEM Hub Network is critical to that future. My ask to this committee: Maintain the Regional STEM Network grants, the STEM Innovation grants, and the Mathways grants.”
