National Engineers Week
2026 is our 9th year collaborating with our partners for National Engineers Week! 🤩From February 22nd - 28th, we teamed up with Intel and Hillsboro School District to bring unique, engineering innovation activities to 76 fourth grade classrooms. "Fourth grade is a pivotal time for STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) learning because research shows that one-third of students lose interest in science by the fourth grade and that a child’s interest in STEM is largely formed by the time they reach upper elementary and middle school. The same research also finds that early exposure to STEM, especially for girls, makes students more likely to succeed in these fields and pursue them in college". Hillsboro School District. (2026, February 27) Featured Event: Engineers Week. 143 volunteer engineers led craft activities that demonstrated core engineering principles. PMSP facilitated putting the kits together. In the end, we built 615 kits that reached about 2,200 kids in 37 schools. A big thank you to Courtney Martin for leading engagement and coordinating volunteers!
We enjoy being a part of this special week every year, and look forward to the next one! 🏫
